You might have noticed lately that I’ve been promoting a
fabulous new project of mine, Flash in the Pan. It’s an email digest of the
latest food trends, based on what chefs, journalists and foodies are talking
about online, and it comes out every other Friday. If you’re in the food
business, it’s a delicious way to catch up and inspire content that will drive
loads of traffic, and if you’re just someone who loves their food it’ll mean
that you never miss out on something new and scrumptious.
All you have to do is sign up below with your email
address and you’ll get Flash in the Pan straight to your inbox every other
week. But if you sign up in the next seven days, you’ll also be in with a
chance to win a selection of incredible spice mixes from the fabulous Spice
Kitchen – so how could you possibly resist? The Spice Kitchen have given me one
of their beautiful packages of International Spice Blends & Barbecue Rubs,
all made with freshly ground whole spices, to give away to you lucky people.
Jerk Chicken Burgers with Aji Mayonnaise
The lovely Sanjay from the Spice Kitchen also sent me a
few spice mixes to play around with, so if you fancy a sneak peek into what you
could be cooking up, check out my recipe for Jerk Chicken Burgers with Aji Mayonnaise. As well as the Jamaican Jerk Spice Blend, the package also includes
Garam Masala from India (one of my very favourite Spice Kitchen blends), Sri
Lankan Curry Powder, Panch Phoron (a Bengalese mix of whole seeds), Mexican
Spice Blend, Chinese Spice Blend, Ras el Hanout from Morocco, and Baharat, an
aromatic Middle Eastern mix. For more information do check out the SpiceKitchen website.
The boring stuff:
the competition will be live from Tuesday 26th May to midnight on
Monday 1st of June (so once you’ve won, the spices will arrive just
in time for barbecue season…), and you must enter by signing up to Flash in the
Pan below. You must then verify your
email address (you’ll get an email from Mail Chimp asking you to click a
link) in order for your entry to be
complete. The winner will be chosen at random and announced soon after the
competition closes. If you’re the lucky winner, I’ll email you using the
address you provide and also put an announcement on Facebook and Twitter. Anyone can sign up for Flash in the Pan, but you must be resident in the UK in
order to win the prize.
